IA Data Drive featured in International Journal of Population Data Science

In 2025, I2D2’s IA Data Drive was showcased in International Journal of Population Data Science (IJPDS) “Building the IA Data Drive: A Participatory Approach to Developing Early Childhood Indicators for State and Local Policymaking“. The recognition of the IA Data Drive in the IJPDS highlights the importance of readily-available, easy-to-use data. It also recognizes the impact readily-available data has on policy-making.

IA Data Drive

The vision of I2D2 is to transform data into actionable intelligence. Originally created during Early Childhood Iowa’s (ECI) statewide strategic planning effort in 2019, the IA Data Drive was designed to give state and local leaders easier access to data they need regularly need for strategic planning, but was not readily accessible in one easy to use platform.

Continuing the Vision of IA Data Drive

I2D2 continues to address barriers in administrative data. Work continues to integrate agency data through new partnerships and datasets expansions. The expansion includes Iowa Head Start Association and Maternal Infant Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) indicators. In 2026, developments are underway to expand the IA Data Drive to better monitor trends across programs, compare local and statewide patterns, and use more data for evidence-based practice. Expansions underway include new community planning tools and services data availability.

Additional Press Releases

Since release, I2D2’s IJPDS article has also been featured across various platforms since its release, such as LinkedIn’s Data with a Human Touch Newsletter and a highlight in AISP’s October Newsletter.
