31 Aug New Publication in Early Childhood Research Quarterly
New Publication
Findings from a new study led by I2D2 Director Rouse were recently published in Early Childhood Research Quarterly’s 77th volume, entitled “Profiles of early care and education utilization: A nationally representative study of birth to five experiences in the United States.”
Summary:
This study used Early Childhood Longitudinal Study, Birth Cohort (ECLS-B) data to study early care and education (ECE) type, timing, and intensity for children from birth through age five. Significant patterns were identified that highlighted disparities in access to ECE, particularly for infant and toddler care experiences. Differences among families with varying socio-demographic characteristics suggest challenges with access and relate to the national debate about the role of formal ECE opportunities in supporting families with young children.
